To our customers and fellow Nova Scotians, over the last year and a half of building homes we've heard repeatedly that you wanted a local option for manufactured housing. Twin Rivers has been able to provide that through our manufacturing facility in Granton, NS. We want to thank you for your support and for trusting us with your housing needs.
With that support, we have already been able to expand our business providing even more jobs and work for Nova Scotians. We want to take this one step further to support our NS economy with our Buy NS Procurement Policy.
Our goal with the new policy is to have a minimum of 40%* of all material inputs made in Nova Scotia. No other home builder in NS has done this before to our knowledge. These are the supply chain spinoffs that come with manufacturing right here at home. A finished house is the end of the line for building materials and by seeking out producers here at home we keep as much money in our local economy as possible.
We recognize that not all products are manufactured here at home. With that, we had to look at a different model where our suppliers will need to have some sort of infrastructure on the ground such as a distribution center and/or a head office. Finally, if a product is not available even in that capacity, we will search out Atlantic Canadian made or distributed products and finally Canadian made and distributed products.
All the above will be done without sacrificing the quality of our final product. So, if you are an NS producer of building products, we encourage you to reach out and we will see where you fit into our production.
